I’m not going to eat between meals and I’m not going to take seconds. Just today.p And I’m going to try this for a year to see what happens.
Here’s what happened last night. We had pizza and baked fries for dinner.> And it was very good. So I was bringing my plate back to the kitchen and I said, “I’ll just have a few more fries. It’s Saturday night — some fun would be ok, right?”p But, even before I took them I thought, “I’m not going to take seconds.”
I don’t type, “I’m not going to take seconds, except on Saturday night for some fun.” I’m taking this one day at a time. But during that one day, I’m totally committed to my experiment.a If I want the fries so much, I can have them tomorrow. And we all know, tomorrow never comes.
So, just for today — committed is totally committed. That’s what makes it work.

That is impressive, kbird. I would have just had a few more fries, whether it was Saturday night or not.
But I have the feeling that you do it your way because you fear that you would not stop at a few more fries, and you know better than anyone else what is going to work and not work for you.
I am the same way about coca-cola, so I can relate.
But I have been thinking of having one on my birthday. Or some of one.
I appauld your commitment and am trying to emulate it. I’m sticking with drinking my water. Just 4 Today I’m drinking my water and I’m going to be in a mad rush to get the house cleaned. Today is my Mom’s B’day dinner with children down to great grandchildren. So, without the help of my beloved coffee, I’m fixing (just for you DTF) to get to work on the house.
Yay, Katie!
There will be other fries for other times. Personally, I’m trying to stay away from fried stuff for cholesterol probs, so I wouldn’t have eaten them for you.
