I’m not going to eat between meals and I’m not going to take seconds. Just Today. And I’m going to try this for a year to see what happens.
Just Today, let’s dream about the future. A future where our health is better. And a (slightly) closer future where we are successfully taking action to improve our health.
As an experiment, in this dream — start your day by making The Commitment (above.) Let’s think about the morning. In our dream, we need breakfast — we won’t be grabbing a sweetroll out of the machine today, so we need something that will get us all the way through to lunch. What would you have?
In my dream, I already know that water will help make this experiment easier. It gives me something to play with (cups, the pouring of water, drinking) and keeps my tummy full. In your dream does water help?
Dreaming about lunch, I’ve made a sandwich and cut it in half (sometimes I cut it in thirds to make more pieces). But sometimes I bring a homemade burrito or slice of pizza. And in this dream, I’m bringing an apple (cut into slices the size of small french fries). When I dream about eating lunch out, the portions are too big and the dream gets to complicated. Are you dreaming about making your lunch, or eating out?
And now, in my dream, I’m so glad I’ve got that second liter of water. It really helps to have it right there. I’m dreaming about using some of the water to make hot tea (I use loose tea leaves). How are you filling those afternoon hours in your dream?
I’m ‘starving’ by the time I drive home. And in my dream dinner is ready when I get there. And it’s a good mix of rice and meat and vegetables (every night, in my dream, the dinner is better than the dinner the night before.) And it doesn’t rock my blood sugar. In your dreams what do you want from dinner?
My dream dinner was so filling and so satisfying, I’m not even thinking about food for the rest of the evening. It seems (in this dream) that all the snacking I’ve done through the years is because I wasn’t really satisfied by my dinner. In my dream, I’m so glad I can eat whatever I want for dinner. How is your evening going? Are you snacking, even in your dreams?
Well, I had no idea that there would be homework assigned today! You certaninly don’t have to do it, but — if you’ve been practicing The Commitment or are thinking about making The Commitment, I’d love it if you could share the answers to these questions.
We haven’t talked much about dreams or the power of dreams. Bonus question: Have dreams ever influenced or powered a change in your life?
I feel so happy to have found a place where we can share our struggles and are tools to live each day, as it is -fresh and new!
Well let me see Just 4 today, I am going to limit my caffine, will drink Green Tea! and I am going to drink my water and stick to the fruit, tuna and yogurt that I brought for lunch!
And Just 4 Today I am going to pre-plan my dinner so everything stays in control!
Just for today I will not eat anyMORE of the apple nut bread I bought at the bakery so there will be some left for the kids when they come home from school.
It wasn’t really that good, but I let myself get too hungry and that’s always a bad idea!
And just for today I will stop procrastinating and get my court report done and emailed.

Pleased to meet you as well! Yes … the never ending coffee battle. I don’t think that I can quit all together right now … but certainly limit. I am going to do some research on how bad it really is,I think it may help with my decision
