Just 4 Today: March 15, 2006

Just 4 Today, I will walk 3 miles and brush my hair with 100 strokes and drink 2 liters of water (and yesssss — finish The Commitment!)

What are you going to do today?

Just4Today, I will drink my six glasses of water, and will order a soup/salad combo for lunch instead of a sub-sandwich.

(the salad will be lemon-desecrated, of course) :)

Man Ee — do you use actual fresh lemons, or something from a bottle?

Fresh, katiebird, always fresh, but given the Ductape’s revelations regarding Splenda perhaps I will step outside of the box and try the bottled stuff someday. :)

(I’m trying to picture this) You buy fresh lemons (how many?) and use how much on a salad on a salad? Do you use lemon for anything else? I’m afraid that I’d buy them with the best of intensions, but then I’d find them in the back of the fridge, all shriveled up.

You could also compromise Manito, make the transition easier by buying one of those little plastic lemons full of juice. :)

I have used bottled, mostly for the minor cold/cough/sore throat remedy (that I can’t have anymore) of honey, lemon juice and rum.

I never could tell a difference, especially after the third or fourth dose.

kbird what does your stylist say about this intensive hairbrushing activity? According to some descendants, there is apparently some debate on this point, though your method was quite popular in days gone by.

I don’t have a stylist, I just hack it off when it gets in the way (I’m kidding, but not by much)

I’m just trying it out of desparation, my hair has been falling out at an alarming rate. I remembered that this was something my mom used to want me to do when I was a kid. So, I thought I’d try it. It seems like the worst thing that would happen is that it come out in the brush instead of all over the house.

I think it’s actually helping (or maybe the hair is just puffier from all the air getting through it.) In my mind, I’m imaging that my scalp is so stimulated and excited it can’t help but grow more hair.

I’ve always had a lot of thick hair and it’s upsetting to me that it just isn’t thick anymore. (a vanity, but who’s hurt by it?)

There is nothing at all wrong with a bit of vanity, but you might consider seeing a stylist, who might be able not only to advise you on the brushing, but I am told that hair can be cut in such a way that thinning can be compensated. Thinning is a natural process that occurs as ladies bloom and gentlemen attain our prime. Sadly, for some of us, mostly gentlemen, this thinning progresses into most of the hairs assuming their spirit form.

I’ve got an appointment with someone on Sunday, I’ll ask (before I go to the Migun Massage bed store). 100 strokes isn’t much though, it takes less than 2 minutes. I’ve got shortish hair.

It’s just what happens when we bloom, though? Well.

I usually cut the lemon in half and squeeze one of the halves into the salad, saving the other half for either another salad on another day or as the resting place for a saladito snack. O:–)

Ok, the juice from half a lemon — anything else? Mrs. Dash?

And salted plums taste good on a lemon?

  13. Posted March 15, 2006 at 10:41 pm | Permalink

I stick to just the lemon, but I’m sure Mrs. Dash could add a nice little kick to the salad.

The salted plums are great if you like strong tastes, be ready to make the “saladito face” tho, it’s a distant relative to “bitter-beer face”. (they’re also great with half an orange) mmmmm [mouth watering]

I forgot to say I would drink my water today, so I’ll say I DID do it. Unfortunately I drank a glass of red wine for dinner and I don’t think it liked me very well.
