Eat 4 Today – The Commitment. 100 days, a hundred ways to manage change.

I’m not going to eat between meals and I’m not going to take seconds. Just Today.y And I’m going to try this for a year to see what happens.

As some of you know, I started this project at the end of July last year and it changed my life immediately. So, I kept with it.E And eventually mentioned it on other blogs — telling people about the improvement in my health and the steady weight loss. And those conversations sparked the idea for Eat4Today.com – a blog devoted to the idea of managing our weight and self-help diseases one day at a time. Continue reading

E4T Exercise Blog – Jogging your memory to jog down your hall

The E4T Exercise Blog, yep — it’s that time again. Time for the first of 4 5-minute sets of exercise. I’ve mentioned before that those 4 sets add up to enough time to walk a mile, even if it is just up and down your hall or around your living room.

And I learned something exciting, at least for me. Our cable subscription includes a set of channels called on-demand. And one of the on-demand channels is an exercise channel. And they’ve got about 100 exercise workouts that can be played whenever I choose. They’ve got yoga, floor exercises, martial arts, weights . . . . and more. They last from 11 – 30 minutes each. So if I recorded one, I could do it in 5 minute sets through the evening.

We’re thinking about doing pilates. Tomorrow :)

Is this a standard cable option now? I’ve never heard of it before.

Update: 7:30 pm – 2nd set, ready? GO!

Update: 9:05 pm – I slept through the 8:30 set, so I’m sneaking in now. Are you Lost?

Update: 9: 38 pm – I’m pacing myself, what about you?

Update: 10:45 pm – I’ve been off all night, but it’s time at last — 4th Set, are you ready?

E4T Fruit and Vegetable Bar. It doesn’t matter if it’s Apples or Oranges. Or Apples AND Oranges. Does it?

(I feel like such a nag) It’s the E4T Fruit and Vegetable Bar. That exciting time when we remind ourselves that without an apple a day (or something similar) we’re not going to meet that 5-9 servings-a-day goal.

Today, it’s sliced apples at lunch for me.p What about you?

Eat 4 Today – The Commitment. Even here, the devil is in the details

I’m not going to eat between meals and I’m not going to take seconds. Just Today. And I’m going to try this for a year to see what happens.

In earlier posts this week we talked about how (even if we’ve made The Commitment) calories still count. That most women (especially those struggling with obesity) burn about 2000 calories a day. And if we want to lose weight, this number should be lurking in the back of our mind as we measure our portions of food. But, we’re not totally limited by that number; we can boost it enough to make a difference with just a little exercise. And that’s what we’ll be talking about today. Continue reading
