E4T Fruit & Vegetable Bar. Going bananas over apples

Taking things one day at a time seems to help with my fruit and vegetable goals also. So, just today I’ll have my apple slices at lunch and a salad with my dinner.o Since I usually have 2 servings of vegetables with my meal, that’ll help boost the total 5 for today.

How about you? Fruits? or Vegetables? (why does everything sound like Deal, or No Deal lately?)

I made some Brussel sprouts today.

I put water on the fire, and when it was hot, I added salt. When it boiled, I added the Brussel sprouts, covered it up, and let them cook for 10 minutes. Then I took them off the fire, drained off the water, and served them with blue cheese dressing.

This is the only way I can eat Brussel sprouts.

I was feeling culinarily mischievous today, so while I was in the kitchen, I also committed some shredded potatoes and onions, American style, with no spices, just salt, pepper, garlic, cayenne and a bit of celery seed, all cooked in just a little vegetable oil, and then still in my western cuisine mood, I committed veal scallopini, beaten flat with a bottle of red wine, then wiped with lemon juice, put in some bread crumbs I seasoned with Romano cheese, garlic, salt, and white pepper, cooked it for about a minute or 2 on each side in a bit of olive oil, and didn’t even bother doing any deglazing or making of sauces. Just plain. The desendants are making sandwiches out of it, on flatbread with horseradish sauce…

You make Brussel sprouts sound good, Ductape, but I know that in the end they tasted like old socks and I would have just scraped off the blue cheese dressing and licked it off the spoon.

But the rest of your lunch sounds wonderful.
