I’m not going to eat between meals and I’m not going to take seconds. Just today. And I’m going to try this for a year to see what happens.
For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been writing about The Hacker’s Diet, an engineer’s system for debugging his obesity problem. And we’re getting close to the point where we will be logging information about what we eat & drink and exercise into Excel spreadsheets (in the latest story, we got some practice playing with feedback)
So today, I’ve dug up my DietMinder — a wonderful food journal with categories for just about everything you could want to track and an easy to use layout. And I’ve already posted my breakfast and lunch on today’s page. It’s $15 if you order it directly from MemoryMinder Journals. But they don’t have Internet ordering.
You can also get it from Barnes and Nobel (I’ve set up an affiliate account!)

I’m jumping the gun a little since I don’t know exactly what Walker wants us to monitor. But, I want to get back in the habit of collecting data, so I’m starting today. I can make changes once I get to the data collection chapter of The Hacker’s Diet.
