What are you going to do today.

J4T I’ll drink 2 liters of water and get the yard done.
I’ve got a problem maybe some of you can help with. I just acquired a soft serve ice cream maker. I know this is probably a taboo subject here, but my problem is the I got it from my sister and my b-i-l is diabetic. I want to make him a batch of ice cream that he could eat, but I’m not sure of the ingredients and so forth to use.
I’ll be googling to look up recipes, but if anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.
Everyone have a good day.
Fiber supplements are not necessary. And may in fact be harmful, seeing as they’re a purified substance that mother nature never intended for our bodies to encounter.
Instead, you should consider adopting an all raw foods diet, consiting of raw fruits, vegetables, fresh nuts and seeds, buckwheat sprouts, green smoothies, and possibly raw milk.
A balanced raw diet with clean water and regular exercise, plus healthy doses of sleep, sunshine, love and laughter are all we really need to be healthy.
And losing weight on a raw diet is quite the norm. People actually have a hard time keeping their weight.
Cooking and recipes are a waste of time. Just eat simple raw foods and smile!
Best Wishes,
John
Hi John, thanks for this information. I’m taking the fiber supplements for a specific purpose that doesn’t seem to be addressed by your post. Do you have more information about a raw diet? Links to discussions about it? I would be interested in learning more about the specifics of that life style.
Hi katiebird.
You can get plenty of fiber from fresh raw foods.
Unfortunately, I’ve yet to find a good source of raw diet information. Most proponents of raw diet have little understanding of nutrition and biochemistry – but most raw foodists dont need scientific data to “prove” that eating raw is right… it just feels right.
There are many variations of the raw food diet… some healthier than others. You can visit rawfoodsupport.com to meet some other raw foodists, but that is a raw vegan forum.
I’m not vegan and I dont think being vegan is healthy.
Some reasons for eating raw:
- Every single animal on earth (that isn’t fed by humans) eats fresh raw foods. Yes, humans have been eating cooked food for thousands of years, but our DNA has been evolving for BILLIONS of years.
- Cooking creates carcinogens, changes protein structure, and destoys nutrients.
- Cooking destoys enzymes. There’s debate whether food-derived enzymes are actually involved in digestion. My understanding is that they are, and in fact, a small percentage are directly absorbed into the lymph and bloodstream. Raw foods are full of proteases, nucleases, ribonucleases, lipases, etc, which probably play some role in digestion.
Health changes I’ve seen since going raw about 3 years ago:
- Chronic heart burn completely vanished and has never returned
- Regular bowel movements
- More energy
- Sleep better at night. I usually fall asleep within 20 minutes now.
- Fewer sugar or salt cravings. I no longer crave pizza, burgers, candy bars, soda, or any of that crap!
- Chronic acne finally clearing up (im 24 yrs old)… I think this is due to the fish oil I started taking recently, and maybe the green smoothies and extra exercise I’ve been doing.
An average day might consist of the following foods spread out during the day:
1 canteloupe
4 bananas
1/2 of medium-size watermelon
1 tall glass of raw milk
1 green smoothie (2 pears, half bunch of parsley, 1 leaf of kale, 1 cup of water)
2 handfulls of raw walnuts
1 carrot
1 apple
2 handfulls red grapes
I also enjoy buckwheat sprouts on occasion. Buckwheat is not a grain and is not related to wheat. It’s a good source of protein and is rich in antioxidants.
Most meals are simple and usually just one food by itself. Combining non-like foods is bad for digestion because different foods require different enzymes and different pH environments to be digested properly.
hmmmm maybe I should start my own blog =)
