Sunday afternoon at the park

I’m not going to eat between meals and I’m not going to take seconds. Just Today. And I’m going to try this for a year to see what happens.

Besides my grocery story, everything else pales but, I think it’s pretty terrific that I walked 6 miles today. I walked 3 miles around the high school track and our neighborhood. Then my sister’s family and I wandered around a local park and The Plaza for a couple of hours. I had my pedometer on the whole time and by the time I got home, I’d walked 6 miles today.

June 24, 2006 — Just 4 Today

Just 4 Today, I’ll walk 3 miles and take my fiber supplement and drink 2 liters of water, host my favorite cafe, visit with my sister (I hope — the schedules are getting complicated) mow a couple of lawns, buy a pair of shorts.

Hm. If I bought a pair of shorts, I could hangout with my sister at the pool and visit.n And mow the lawn first. . . .

Controlling my destiny

I’m not going to eat between meals and I’m not going to take seconds. Just today. And I’m going to try this for a year to see what happens.

A couple of days ago I wrote about my joy in settling into a new walking routine. And earlier in the week, I wrote 6 things you can do to avoid snacking for the rest of the day. And together those events made this week one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Because that list worked. It really did. And by working — reminding me to walk when I felt tempted to eat — it reinforced that walking routine. In the end I walked 4-5 miles every day this week.

I feel so much better now that I’m in control of my destiny again.

June 23, 2006 — Just 4 Today

Just 4 today I’m going to drink 2 liters of water (I’ve drunk 3/4), take my fiber supplement twice (I just took it once yesterday), walk 3 miles (I’ve walked over 4 miles everyday this week)

And remind everyone that you don’t have to be a registered user to post (Thanks Liz for pointing out that I needed to change another setting for this to work!)

Committing in Slow Motion

Imm not going to eat between meals and I’m not going to take seconds. Just today.c And I’m going to try this for a year to see what happens.

Do you ever have a morning when everything seems to run in slow motion? That’s me today.u So, I’m very late. But I’m not going to miss my commitment just for that.

I love you all!
