August 31, 2006 — Just 4 Today
Just 4 Today, I’ll drink 2 liters of water (I’ve drunk 3/4) take my fiber supplement twice (I’ve taken it once) and walk 3 miles.
What are you going to do today?

Dreaming my life away
Just today, I’m not going to eat between meals and I’m not going to take seconds. And I’ll weigh myself & use the tools and guidance from The Hacker’s Diet to help me reach (and keep) my goal.
We’ve got the windows open. It’s a lovely 62 degrees outside and birds are chirping and a light breeze is blowing and I’ve been sitting here dreaming the morning away. Morning after morning all summer it’s been too hot to even think of opening the windows. If I didn’t have to leave for work in a half hour, I’d go for a walk right now.
This is the sort of morning that sets me to dreaming. Thinking about patio blogging and the pleasure of napping on the canvas rocking chair we’ve got out there. And what fun it would be to drift around visiting blogs like Who’s Yo Mama? (the current focus of the eMoms BlogJolt project) in between my dreams.
This has been a slow quiet summer here at Eat4Today and it’s sort of fit my mood. I’ve posted my regular features (with a few days off) but fighting the heat sapped some of my energy for posting extra features. With the shift in the weather that’s going to change. I’ve got ideas for energizing our discussions with new features and articles and bringing new people to our group. And I hope to find ways to bring some of our old friends back.

Keeping just enough focus to keep control
Just today, I’m not going to eat between meals and I’m not going to take seconds. And I’ll weigh myself & use the tools and guidance from The Hacker’s Diet to help me reach (and keep) my goal.
Stephanie over at Back in Skinny Jeans has a post about making small changes steadily that makes a lot of sense. The central point to her discussion is that huge-grand diet and excercise plans can all too quickly fade to nothing. And they leave us with nothing — we’ve lost focus and energy before we ever made any significant changes. But that if make tiny incremental changes to our routine, changes that we can live with for a long time, we can actually have success.
And you can’t have a much smaller goal than mine right now. While I still want to lose a bunch of pounds by New Years, today my goals is to not-gain-weight. Thats all. I’ve lost a lot of weight this year. And things are getting crazy around the house. And that’s the first warning sign. Traditionally the next thing I know, I’ve gained 50 pounds. Continue reading

I don’t know why, but I feel extra optimistic this morning how about you? What are your plans (goals) for the day? It’s amazing what you can do if you promise that it’s “Just 4 Today”
