I’ve started digging into The Performance Diet — and it’s a real surprise. They have about 50 pages of introductory information that they want us to read before even opening the software. And they are serious.
I clicked on the desktop icon that normally (I would have said always before this) starts a software program, and was taken to a Welcome Message with two buttons. The first says, How to Start Your Diet Program, the other says, I want to take a tour. And I’m pretty sure they take you to the same place
! (I stumble into an alternate universe)
They start at the beginning
Because so many people fail at weight management and they don’t want us to fail this time, they want us to read through some introductory pages about their program before we dive into their software making incorrect assumptions.
At least, that’s what I thought.
They promised that I could start the program after I read Chapter 6. But they meant “The Program” as in, “The Performance Diet Program” — their plan!!
Chapter 6 is the introduction to their Exercise philosophy. And it’s nothing revolutionary to people like us who’ve read a lot about the issue. It is interesting and there are links to even more information that I haven’t taken the time to read yet.
I didn’t read it all because I had hopes of actually digging into the program (no caps) this morning. Ha!
Paper Tracking Exercise Results
It turns out, I’m supposed to actually read all those extra documents (It’s an eBook) and follow their Exercise Plan for some number of days, tracking the results on paper before I ever start the software program itself.
Hm…. I have to admit, that was a stopping point for this morning.
These people have a plan and they feel very strongly that each step has to be followed in order for this plan to work. So, I’ll stick with it and read that eBook before I go any farther.
This isn’t snark
I don’t mean to sound snarky, I’m just eager to dig into the software. What I read this morning was impressive and felt right. And in fact totally fits with the mission of this site. I’ll talk about it in a little more detail this evening. Because I think you all will be interested in what they have to say.
I guess this product is a lot more than I expected — I’ve NEVER spent this much time training for an off-the-shelf package before getting a look at it.
