Weekends are for playing

Have you got plans for the weekend?

I was over at Liz’s Successful Blog and she’s got something important to say about her plans (her weekends start with a Friday activity)

2 Rules and a Bunch of Ideas

So I made this list that I check every Friday. It’s not written stone — more like it’s etched in ice. But it does remind me what to think about when Friday rolls around. It’s two rules and a bunch of ideas to focus on so that I leave work behind.

Two Rules

  • RULE 1: Weekends are recreational or recuperative.
  • RULE 2: Except in rare emergencies, all work is “want to,” not “have-to” stuff.

And while these rules are great (regular visitors won’t be surprised to learn that I like rules) the really good stuff is in the list of things she’s thinking about doing . . . .

I’d like to go on a photography drive tomorrow. If I let it got too many weeks longer, everything will be brown. But if it’s raining or even cloudy, I’ll have to dream-up something else.

Actually, that sounds fun too. What do you think?

I think a photography drive sounds like a great idea! Of course, for me that would mean taking pictures with my mind’s eye — those are the one’s I always end up liking the best– and that’s cool because it’s not good to take pictures while you’re driving with the top down. . . . :)

(giggle — driving with the top down while taking photos!)

Silly! We usually stop. Well, not always. I took the “I am a Rock” picture over there in the sidebar at about 50 miles an hour. But I wasn’t driving….
