October 9, 2006 — Just 4 Today

9 10 2006

Just 4 today, I’ll drink 2 liters of water, take my fiber supplement twice, weigh myself and walk 3 miles.

I’ve drunk 1/3 liter, taken my fiber supplement once and weighed myself.

I really dragged through the weekend. I had blood tests done on Friday and even though they don’t take that much, it always knocks me out for a while. I hope I’m back in good form today.

How about you?

Hi KB. Sorry I haven’t dropped by in awhile and sorry to hear about your blood test.

J4T I will drink 2 liters of water and get this messy house cleaned.

I hope everyone has a good day and week ahead.

Hi FamilyMan — I’m just glad to see you. And I hope that your back and Fmom are both doing better.

Hi KB – FMom is feeling better now and I found out I had a compression fracture in one of my lumbar vertebrae. Thankfully both of us are past the bad pain part now.

Hope you’ve been doing well.

I’m doing OK, I thought I was getting a cold, but I have hopes that the chicken soup we just had for dinner will keep it in check.

What can they do for your fracture? By saying you’re past the pain do you mean that it’s mostly healed?

And did you join the fun in Chicago?

I hope the chicken soup helps too.

The back is on the road to healing, but the doctor wants to do a Balloon Kyphoplasty. It where they put a balloon into the collapsed vertebra and then they fill it with a special type of cement. The doctor says it a 95% success rate. Like I said the worst pain is over, but it still hurts to move or bend, so I’m going to go ahead and have that done. I’m waiting for the doctor and insurance company to hook up now.

FARfetched

Like FM, my apologies for not being around much. I had a rather full weekend.

Sticking me for blood doesn’t bother me much, but I remember getting a shot for a runaway case of poison oak that started killing the poison oak within 20 minutes, and left me feeling rather wobbly. “Oh it’s just a shock reaction to getting stuck,” said the doc. Funny how that had never happened to me before. Anyway, I hope you’re feeling better by tomorrow and can get your walk in!

{{FamilyMan}} Oh, my dear. The things they can do now. It’s amazing really.

Is any of your family around to help out at all?

FARfetched, I was told that about a bee sting a long time ago — that it was a sort of mild shock. And since then I’ve noticed it. I used to think I should work through it. But as I’ve gotten older, I decided that I’m better off paying attention to those sorts of signals.

So I pace myself.
