Just 4 Today, I’ll drink my fiber supplement twice (Once already!), drink 2 liters of water (1/3!!) walk 5 miles (with no meetings today, this is do-able. Yesterday, I just did 3), weigh myself (done. And I’m doing OK) and NOT eat between meals and NOT take seconds. Please.
What are you going to do today?
Don’t forget — tomorrow is the Weekly Wednesday Weigh-In!
Good to hear the weigh-in did OK!
J4T, I’ll take some time off scripting to get either a walk or a bike ride in. I’ve taken my fiber supplement already.
Hi, FF!! I’m glad to hear about another fiber supplement taker, as you know, I’m convinced they’re the greatest.
I’ve decided that I’m going to get up every hour or so and pace the hallway. That’s pretty much like what I was doing last year with the big-room and I think I’ll get more consistent walking done (hmm — it’s probably time to go right now….)
Also, what’s the scripting you’re doing?
Well, in my case, I’m taking the fiber supplement to counteract the stopping-up effect of the st00p1d Lipitor. I’m hoping that a three-month round of this stuff will knock my cholesterol back to where I can quit taking it and keep an eye on my intake.
My scripting project is to get my documentation into OmniHelp — a bunch of shell/awk scripts driven by the Makefile. I can type “make” and have a PDF in short order; now I want to type “make html” and have a nice help-style document set. The HTML cleanup script was easier than I’d expected; the OmniHelp “contents” generator was simple enough; but the index generator is probably going to kill me.
If I get it working, I’ll write up a paper & send you a link!
Have you heard the rumors about apple cider lowering cholesterol? A woman who came to the Eat4Today Live sessions claims that taking it everyday dropped her cholesterol to almost nothing. When you search the Internets, a lot of people are trying it. But I don’t know if there’ve been any government studies yet.
I once wrote an index generator in Visual Basic for Applications that (through MS Word) created an HTML index of all the Word Documents in a given directory. I wonder if I have that on a disk anywhere? It was a fun project — the type of thing that once it’s done it works so well, no one understands that it was actually impossible to do.
Yikes! And I meant to say — please do send me a link to your paper!! I have a real interest in the subject. (sorry)
Went to WW this evening instead of later in the week due to all kinds of commitments coming up, and was pleased to find that I have lost another 2.4 lbs. My average over the past 12 weeks is a little over 1 lb. per week. I would have to do the 2.4 every week to 12/31 to reach my “60 by 60,” and I just don’t think that’s going to happen !
Eve so, I can live with this kind of result quite nicely. And I will just continue to work on the project into the new year.
Of course as one exercises more, one gains muscle weight, as we all know, so if that’s the cause of not getting to the goal precisely, no worries.
I’m not taking a fiber supplement, but have upped my vegetable consumption, so I think that’s made up for it.
We went through Thanksgiving preparation at the meeting tonight, becoming thoroughly familiar with the portions of traditional favorites and their “point” values. There were also some good recipes which I look forward to trying out.
Everybody seemed to be very upbeat and engaged, and ready to deal with the serious start of the annual season of feasting in a constructive fashion.
I feel pretty good about the whole weight-loss thing at this point. It’s one of the few areas of my life right now that seems to be working !
Oh, catdog — I’m so glad. And I hope you keep posting comments about how things are going with Weight Watchers. I really am interested in it. Even after writing a whole post about not rejoining, I still find myself wavering.
