February 27, 2007 — Just 4 Today

Just 4 Today logo

Just 4 Today, I’ll:

  1. Weigh myself (done)
  2. Drink my fiber twice (I’ve done it once – I’m getting more consistant)
  3. Drink 2 liters of water (about 1/3 – I’m good at home, but I really need to do better through the day)
  4. Walk 3 miles (My 3415 Plan really works – I walk 3 miles without even noticing it)
  5. Measure my Blood Sugar 7 times (I’ve done it twice. And !!! my post-breakfast reading is a healthy 110 — that would be a great number even if I hadn’t eaten 1/2 hour ago. Yesterday at this time, it was 141 and it continued to go up to 159 by the time I got to work)
  6. NOT eat between meals & NOT take seconds (I’ve done very well at this for a couple of weeks now)

I wish all this healthy consistency was making me lose weight. But you can’t have everything. At least my blood sugar is gradually getting better. Maybe my weight will too if I keep this up.

What are you going to do today?

Tired of hearing about my Blood Sugar? Take a break with Felt Dollies

Luckily our tagline is “A place to discuss food and eating and the state of the world” — a line that means virtually nothing is Off Topic here!

I was wandering through this week’s BlogJolted Blog, PlayLibrary — it’s like a dream come true. I wish there was a place like http://www.playlibrary.com/ when I was a kid (hard as it is to believe, there wasn’t an Internet at all back then.) At my day job, I’m the coordinator for a public library. And the most popular section of our site is the kids activities. So everytime I run across a site catering to kids entertainment, I really sit-up and take notice.
There are posts about Science Kits & American Girl Movies. And there’s a post about Felt Dollies. I can’t tell you how much I love felt crafts — I’ve got a bag packed with felt hanging on my office door right now.

And it doesn’t read like a shopping site. There’s a friendly, chatty tone that makes the stuff sound even more attractive. Do you think anyone would mind if I spent tomorrow cutting-up felt?
