February 16, 2007 — Just 4 Today

Just 4 Today logoJust 4 Today, I’ll drink my fiber twice (once so far!), drink 2 liters of water (drunk nearly 1), walk 3 miles (more about this later, but I’ve walked one mile), NOT eat between meals & NOT take seconds.

Congratulations to Bombshell!!

Bombshell reached a major goal today, and she described it for us

I HAVE REACHED MY GOAL WEIGHT TODAY

After almost a year of mind-bending, hellish hunger resistance, I have finally done it. Today I weighed in at 124 pounds, which caused my moving average weight to hit 125. I am a very small boned person so this weight is reasonable and healthy for me. It took me TWO weeks to shed the last pound, but I did it on principle, not because it would make me look any different. I did it to battle my inner demon: stress-induced binging. I have not had a stress-induced eating attack for months and months, which is a major accomplishment for me. It is thrilling to have accomplished this goal. I went and bought two jackets, two t-shirts, and one pair of insanely high heels for my reward.

JUST FOR TODAY (and hopefully for every day in the future), I will STILL COUNT calories, as I have promised myself I would do. The only difference is that today, I get to eat 1700 calories, the amount my body actually burns each day, instead of 1200. If I stick with 1700 per day, I will never get fat again, and never have to endure the torture of dieting again. And so that is what I plan to do. And ALSO, I plan never to eat due to stress rather than hunger. And ALSO, I plan to forgive myself on the rare times when that DOES happen. Because lets face it: not forgiving yourself for overeating just leads to more overeating.

You will still see me on this blog, because this is a lifetime commitment that I am making. Now that I’ve achieved my goal I am here to help others achieve theirs. Bombshell out. : )

We’ve all got a long way to go, but it’s a great thrill for me to hear about successful milestones when they happen.
