May 16, 2007 — Just 4 Today

Just 4 Today logo Just 4 Today, I’ll take my fiber supplement (done), drink 2 liters of water (drunk about 1/2) and weigh myself (done). And walk 3 times today for 15 minutes each (3415). Oh, and log everything I eat and my walking in Nutribase.
Mornings are getting complicated.  It was bad enough when I just had to make coffee and cereal and drink the fiber all before actually getting to drink my coffee.  Now I’m logging and posting and charting every step I take.  And I think I’ll have to get up 15 minutes earlier, because something’s got to give.

I’m not complaining though.  It is a fact that when I log my food – and when I spend some time analyzing my daily progress – I stay focused.  And that focus is all it takes for me to make progress with my weight goals (hey, would this work with other projects as well?)  Since breaking that stubborn plateau, I’ve been losing 1/2 pound a day (I know this is the traditional early-days illusion — still it’s a good sign that the scale is finally moving.)

I stumbled into the bit in Nutribase where I can export data.  I’m hoping that I can use this to make the charts I want in Excel.  Or maybe even in Nutribase itself (which would obviously be better).  I’ll post my progress (good and bad) with Nutribase.

What are you going to do today?

    Good morning KB.

J4T I’ll drink 2 liters of water and I’ll look out at the glorious rain that’s hitting my lawn.

I’m glad you’re make more progress with the Nutibase program. I do think it will be very interesting to see what develops from it.

Good morning FamilyMan! Hope your water is as good as mine (I haven’t figured out how to enter Tap Water in Nutribase — I wonder if I should send them a letter?)

I see I messed up on my formatting, but I sort of like that dramatic splash of blue. So, I’ll leave it up until I get a complaint.

My day so far– get up at 6:30, fix lunch for grandling, get grandling ready for school– OOOPS ! No socks. Or, actually one sock. Dirty. Get self dressed, go to CVS for socks. OOOPS ! No child-size socks, only tights. Grab tights, a box of Special K breakfast bars (90 cal.) and a small bottle of o.j. for her.

She puts on tights in the car, eats a breakfast bar, gets dropped off at school.

I drive to work, eating a breakfast bar in the car. I am the first to arrive at the office. Turn on lights, grab and apple from my little frig, think about making a cup of tea– say to hell with it and grab a diet Coke.

Yeah, that’s the kind of day it is, so far !

So, Melting Wok — are lychee and longan fruits good or bad? They look good in the photo, that’s why I chose them.

Thank you for your kind words.

Lychee were a commonplace in my San Francisco area upbringing, longan, not so much.

Hey Katie, yes, both longan and lychee are both delicious and high in Vit C and antioxidants. However, my mom encourages us to take longan only in the dried form, and cook it in a sweet dessert with snow white fungus, sweet red dates with rock sugars (crystallised sugar), suppose to be cooling for your system. According to the chinese belief, raw longan fruit is kinda benovelant (heaty), and lychee is all good. They’re seasonal, however, you can also find them in the can section at the Asian grocery market.

It sounds good, Melting Wok. I’ll see if they’ve got them in stock in the shop around the corner (a gigantic Asian Grocery Store)
