Hi Bombshell, sorry I'm so late. We had a heavy rain right as I got off work and that delayed our walk.

I actually eat (at least a little) more vegetables than is apparent by those lists. Some of those line-items represent menus & meals and often include vegetables.

But, you're right -- the fruits and vegetables are hard for me (I bought a huge bag of fruit on Sunday though so you'll be seeing fruit salad show up during the next week -- I've had fruit with every meal since then!)

I'm willing to be hungry, even "starving" for an hour or so before a meal -- but not much longer than that. So, my meals are the result of tracking my meals off and on for years (starting with Weight Watchers quite a while ago.)

The fiber supplement is because I'm so erratic about the fruits and vegetables and I HAVE to have more fiber in my diet. I'm trying to avoid hemorrhoid surgery. Taking Konsyl, has changed my life even more than the weightloss.

KB -

I'm flattered that you imagined me as a Californian bombshell, but I am on EST. I'm in vacation mode and so I'll check back periodically, yes, sure, we can talk. Do you want to use MSN Messenger or AIM, or do you want to just post through here?

Bombshell, I can't answer you until this evening -- I'll be working until 6pm tonight, then dinner and walking. So it might be later than usual -- maybe 6ish or 7ish your time. Can we talk then?

I'm really interested in talking about the differences and similarities in our diets.

KB,

Wow. I am genuinely surprised at the differences between my average 1200 calorie day and your 1200 calorie day. For those of you who haven't been following, KB is FULL on these calories and I am not. Here are the differences:

1. I eat way more fruits and vegetables than you. [shocked that you would be more full!]
2. You eat more healthy complex carbs and proteins than I do.
3. When you do eat a fruit, it is often an apple, which is more filling per calorie than some of the fruits I eat (mango, cherries, etc).
4. With each meal, you eat a carb AND a protein, instead of eating only one or the other at a time in a series of small snacks.
5. You appear not to eat too many healthy fats like nuts and avocados.
6. You take a fiber supplement, I don't.

I am the type of person that crashes if I don't have small snacks during the day... I don't know if I want to switch to only 3 meals. But I can definitely try your system of eating lots of carbs and proteins together. It makes sense that this would keep you full for longer; you burn the carbs first, then the proteins later. Fruits and vegetables are bulky and make your stomach feel full for awhile, but do burn off quickly. Regarding healthy fats (almonds, avocados, etc) - I am certain I would feel ill if I gave them up for too long, but I think I can give them up for a few weeks to see what happens. After all there is no denying the fact that four onces of chicken is WAY more filling than a tiny handful of almonds. The apple things is obvious and something that I should be disciplined about - I just love other more exotic fruits. But thankfully I also like apples and just need to remember to incorporate them more.

The LAST thing - the fiber supplement. I had tried taking hoodia with meals (pure, from a reputable vitamin company) to see if it would make me more full but it DIDN'T. Would a fiber supplement make me more full? I know they put fiber into things like Slimfast bars (which I HATE and never eat but have to admit on the few times I've tried them, they make you full for a LONG time). Sorry for the awkward nature of this question, but as a regular person with a normal digestive system, if I took fiber would it make me feel full or would it just make me poop incessantly?
