Just 4 Today, I’ll drink my fiber twice (done once), drink 2 liters of water (about 1/2 a liter), walk 5 miles (3415 — Yesterday, 4.08), NOT eat between meals & NOT take seconds.
Ah, Tuesday. Luckily, I made my lunch last night. Because, I’m really moving slowly this morning.
One thing I like about doing this Just 4 Today checklist is that it makes a difference. I didn’t post it Sunday — and the whole day felt off. Not that anything bad happened, but The Little Voice wasn’t quite as insistent as usual.
What are you going to do today? And does posting your checklist make a difference to your plans?

Good morning KB.
I’m a checklist person. I think my job in the military made me that way, but if I’m going to make sure everything gets done and gets done the right way, I have to have a checklist.
J4T I’m going to drink 2 liters of water.
Hope everyone’s day goes good.
Happy Tuesday, everyone. Busy day yesterday so wasn’t able to check in online. J4T I will take my sleep-schedule by the horns and tame it so there is some semblance of regularity. I screwed it up over the weekend and it’s wreaking havoc (Harry Potteritis struck); will drink upwards of 2 liters of water, not eat anything between meals, and spend some quality time with my bouncy ball and ab roller thing-a-ma-bob.
J4T I will count calories.
J4T I will have a positive yet reality-based outlook.
Hi FamilyMan, Manny & Bombshell — I had a roughish day yesterday and didn’t make it back here at all. And that made getting going today even harder for me than the usual Tuesday.
Manny, you said something last week that was totally inspirational:
“Well, the problem was that prior to the past couple of weeks I was content with losing momentum (without even realizing it). I think a good plan is to leave ourselves reminders in visible places that we are trying to transform our lives so that our health remains strong.”
I was really struck by one paragraph describing both the process of losing momentum AND regaining/holding it again.
I know that of all the little things I do (pledges/affirmations talking to friends) the single most important thing is the charm bracelet mister gave me for my birthday.
It’s on my arm whenever I’m awake — a constant reminder of my goals and dreams — and his faith that I can do whatever I aim to do.
And for the last week or so, Manny, I’ve thought of you and your goals when I look at it (or hold onto it for dear-life too)
Good morning, even if it is almost 5 p.m.
I’m so sleepy I could snore standing up.
I’m on a carrot thing lately. More baby carrots than I care to count, and it’s only about 50-75 calories. Wonderful alternative to stupidity !
Hi kansas & catdog! kansas, I hope you managed to find time for a nap??
catdog, I’ve been eating baby carrots like crazy for lunch. I really feel like I’ve eaten something solid after a handful of them.
Hi all. It was a beautiful day for a walk in the Valley. Hopefully tomorrow will be the same. Still haven’t started Harry.

And a delayed reaction to your link, Bombshell:
“Adding a modest amount of ordinary cider vinegar to the diet may helpreduce postprandial glycemia and curb the pangs of hunger for the rest of theday, according to a small study presented at the 46th annual meeting of theAmerican College of Nutrition, held September 22–25 in Kiawah Island,S.C.”
This is VERY interesting. I always sprinkle vinegar on French Fries. And notieced years ago that putting mustard on sandwiches makes me feel fuller.
Thanks for sharing this!
