Just 4 Today, I’ll drink my fiber twice (once so far), drink 2 liters of water (I’ve drunk about 1/2), walk 5 miles (3415 — Yesterday, 3.33), NOT eat between meals & NOT take seconds.
I met most of my goals yesterday. Missed some of the walking. Mister and I did take a walk yesterday. But, we drove to the track and I pooped out a couple of laps before he did. I can’t tell yet if I’m feeling OK after all that dental work yesterday. Still, I’ll try to walk my 5 miles. A girl’s got to have a goal. Right?
What are you going to do today?

I think I will delay part 2 of my Hacker’s Diet conversation until my brain isn’t quite so fuzzy. (feeling guilty)
Morning katieb … I’m going to try to spend a bit of time outdoors today — but it’s supposed to be a hot one. It does break the day up nicely though, getting outdoors.
Hi Olivia! How hot is “hot” up where you are? Mister told me yesterday that it can get into the 100s in Montana. Does it get that hot where you are?
It’s going to be in the 30sC/90sF this week w/ the humidity — and it wouldn’t be so bad, but the humidity does me in. It’s sort of like having a very hot, damp towel wrapped around your face …
A couple weeks ago it got up to 41C/106F … That was awful.
I thought it was bad here in Kansas! We get that sort of heat & humidity (luckily it’s been a while since it got over 100) but we don’t get anywhere near as cold as you.
If you’re going out in that sort of heat, Olivia — pace yourself. Don’t stay out too long and make sure you’ve been drinking enough water. It’s amazing what a difference that makes.
I woke up because the cell phone, set on alarm, buzzed itself off the nightstand. I forgot to turn on the SOUND ! But at least I woke up on time. Oh, and no damage to the phone.
Had a lovely and totally appropriate breakfast looking out over a beautiful and placid lake– I stayed at a new guesthouse last night. It is designed to be amazingly energy efficient. Lights go on only when you approach an area, and turn off behind you. Cooling is circulating water. There are lots of other details about it I don’t know, but suffice it to say, this is probably one of the most energy efficient buildings in the US. It just opened a few months ago.
The weather is a little cooler than yesterday, maybe it will be in the high 70’s/low 80’s– I actually got a touch of sunburn with all that meandering around outdoors yesterday. This hasn’t happened at home because I’m generally out walking when the sun is low in the sky, rather than midday like yesterday here.
In a few hours I’ll be on the road again to Chicago, ready for my second conference. At least I was able to do some laundry last night !
KB– I dodged the dental bullet so far, but I’ll be getting to the dentist when I get back. Don’t know if I’ll need any crowns, but I’m a little nervous about the co-pay ! Hope you’re feeling up to par now…
106 where you are, Olivia??? Surely, that’s not “normal”?
Good morning, all. I haven’t been so good about drinking water lately. Today I’ll aim for doing better.
catdog — the co-pays were fun: $300/crown — $900 for yesterday’s visit!
I hope your conferences are fun and enlightening. I’m glad you’re getting at least a little bit of exercise.
Nancy, you’ve really made up for your ‘vacation’ over at your blog. Yesterday’s conversation was wonderful. And I’ve got high hopes for today’s.
Thank you, kb. The topic of celebrating achievements is certainly applicable here, too, isn’t it? Are you going to make a post about what you realized today? So we can congratulate you?
Yeah … 106 was a record breaker … not normal … thankfully, otherwise I’m going to have to move to Nunavut …
The highest it got today was 96 w/ humidity.
Hi, all. It was high 80s here in the Valley today. No walkng but plenty o’ water.
It wasn’t too hot here (mid 80s), but I didn’t walk after dinner. So, I just did the 2.42 that I walked during my breaks at work.
I’m so sorry things are so hot for Olivia and B2. And with humidity (as Olivia says) that’s even worse!
The news Nancy mentioned is that as of this morning I’ve lost 65 pounds. Of course by FARfetched’s rule, I’ve got to keep that off for at least a week (or is it two?)
Wow! Congratulations katieb! That’s fantastic … :~D
Thanks, Olivia. Now that I’ve gone public, I’m terrified that I’ll goof up and blow it.
Maybe I should run out and buy a new outfit. That I’ll be too afraid to grow out of….
And that’s not all, is it, Missy? Isn’t there another milestone this week?
ummm. OOO!! (turning red)
Oh, you must mean……
That this week is the 2nd anniversary of when I started NOT eating between meals and NOT talking seconds!!
Right?
Yes! I am so impressed with these accomplishments. Many many kudos and pretty clothes to you!
Nancy, I’m actually blushing. (And it doesn’t help that mister’s been walking around taking photos of me)
I’ve been looking for that swirly dress, do you remember where I posted it?
Your encouragement from the beginning has been crucial to the whole experience. I think you were the first person besides mister that I told (that day you took me on a tour of Kansas City.) I was so nervous about saying anything.
Now days, I talk about it to total strangers without thinking twice.
Things have really changed in so many ways. Haven’t they?
KB– 65 ! GREAT ! Just keep on doing what you’re doing and it will stay gone.
Thanks catdog! You’re right — the trick is to just keep doing what I’m doing now. And don’t do whatever lead to me temporarily re-gaining 15 pounds. I don’t ever want to lose control like that again.
(thank God for Eat4Today — it’s made all the difference for me.)
