Just 4 Today, I’ll drink my fiber twice (done once!), drink 2 liters of water (so far, about 1/2 liter), walk 5 miles (yesterday – 4.85), NOT eat between meals & NOT take seconds.
Yesterday flew by and I think today will be more of the same. I didn’t visit ANY of my blogging friends yesterday — at least not once the day got rolling. And today will be even more jammed. Work, shopping (at lunch for shoes) & wedding . . . . The perfect combination for trouble later.
There will be ‘dinner’ at the wedding. Not a sit-down dinner, but tables of nibbly treats. Just the sort of thing to trick a person who’s been running around like a crazy person all day. I’m hoping that I can have a quick sit-down meal with mister before the wedding.
Here’s how crazy-busy this week’s been: I’ve been looking forward to this week’s opening of the city’s new community center / gym for a year. A YEAR. And it opened on Monday. And I haven’t had a second to visit it. ARRRGGGG!
A walk later anyone (Please)? What are you going to do today?
Morning KB.
J4T I’ll drink 2 liter of water and as usual try finish the lawn. Didn’t get around to it yesterday.
Hope things slow down for you, and that’s a good idea for you and Mister to eat before the dinner at the wedding.
Have fun at the wedding.
Hi FM, I think so too. The only thing stopping me is the Space/Time continuum.
Leave Work (in KCK), Get Home (In Johnson County), Get Cleaned up(?), Dressed, eat(?), pick-up daughter across town (near Med Center), get to wedding (Linwood & Main) before vows.
Leave work at 5pm be at wedding by 6:30ish . . . .
Sounds like you’re having a FAR Manor kind of week! {{{Katie}}} I agree with FM, eating before the wedding sounds like a good strategy — I hope you can pull it off. As far as the nibbly treats go… those platters usually include a large number of fresh veggies, sitting neglected and lonely among the processed and formed treats. I could think of worse things to do than nibble the carrots and celery sticks all night.
J4T I’ll drink my 2l of water and start wrapping up the big documentation project. I’ll also get a walk in. The big project will hit a stopping point tomorrow, (as I told FM) one way or another.
Hi FAR! Thanks for the hug — It really helped. I know there will be fresh veggies — I’m counting on it. But, I also know myself. And sometimes after eating at the fresh veggie tray, I absentmindedly wander over to a Crab Rangoon tray. And then it’s all over but-the-shouting. So, it might be better to avoid the whole thing.
I forgot to mention that I’m bringing my camera and that usually helps.
I really envy you — that you have projects that come to an end. That must be a wonderful feeling.
Does that mean your vacation starts this weekend?
An hour and a half doesn’t seem like enough time at all. I don’t know your area, but that seems like a heck of a lot of driving and getting ready in a very short time. Be careful with that driving, and don’t try to rush too much.
Woo Hoo on bringing the camera. Gee that almost feels like an Olivia moment.
Hi FamilyMan — How cruel of you to actually spell out the exact amount of time. I hadn’t let myself do that (how’s that as an example of avoiding reality?)
Here’s how I’m going to manipulate time:
* Shower/Hair: Done
* Shoes: Run Down to Macy’s on the Plaza at lunch. There’s got to be something on sale. If not, I’ll wear the low-healed shoes and like it.
* Clothes: Everything the same, except I’ll quickly switch dresses.
* (5:30) SIT DOWN and eat a small dinner as soon as I walk in the door
* (5:50) Put on Make Up (this is the longest part)
Hmm… 5:50 is when I have to leave to pick up daughter. I wonder if I can eat and do Make Up at the same time? Because I’ve GOT to have that war-paint on.
I’m sorry KB, didn’t mean for reality to rear it’s ugly head.
You can look at it as this is going to be a fun day and I’ll hurry, but not feel rushed, or you can call and tell them to move the wedding back 30 minutes because they’re having it just too early.
See katiebird going by in a blur!! But she sure looks pretty and SLIM!
ooooer, good idea about taking the camera. One less free hand to grab treats.
Can you finish the makeup in the car? Can mister do the driving so you can do it without running off the road and smearing the mascara?
This particular project really never ends — but it’s going into beta tomorrow & that means I’ll be waiting for more comments to come in… so I can focus on some other projects that have been feeling neglected. I’m thinking about completely restructuring the whole thing into components that can be updated & approved separately; this sucker has taken aim at topping 1000 pages by the next major update.
Oh, and vacation starts next weekend. Come home from work Friday, I’ll probably be already packed, we’ll grab some groceries on the way. It’s about an hour drive, plus any other stops on the way, so we might actually get there before dark.
Uh-oh, speaking of treats, the vending machine operator left FOUR six-packs of those little doughnuts on the coffee machine! I grabbed one to share the label with you guys — KB, it might give you a disincentive tonight.

OK, now that we’re all totally grossed out, I can put this back on the coffee machine. Unopened.
YIKES. One small donut has over 300 calories? and all that other stuff? (staying out of staff rooms)
And I don’t think mister is going. He doesn’t generally go to events.
It turns out there ISN’T a Macy’s on the Plaza. How did THAT happen?
You didn’t see this until after you get back from the treat bar, but the list applies to the entire pack – 60-odd calories etc for one little dognut. The problem is, who’s going to eat just one of them? (“Where’s the other 5? They were right here!”)
Not as hot yesterday as it might have been, but hot again today. Supposed to be a record for power use.
Got the walk home yesterday done just fine. Dinner was a small piece of steak, a scant cup of linguini (remember I don’t do the cooking most of the time !), and a shrimp salad.
Then went to a friend’s for tea. Had some grapes, a couple of cookies, and the aforementioned tea.
Should have skipped the cookies, and the linguini.
Maybe just have a salad tonight.
More exercise !
Catdog, I’d have skipped the steak and enjoyed the shrimp & linguini myself. And skip cookies? Blasphemy!
Cookies are, admittedly, a weakness of mine. As long as they don’t have walnuts or oatmeal, anyway.
OMG Farfetched, I LOVE oatmeal raisin walnut cookies.. so wholesome… and so deceptively caloric… [eyes glazed over]
[hugs KB] I hate wedding food! Its always fried and there is no way to determine the calories. I am sure you will triumph over it.
Catdog, your eating day sounds pretty healthy and good. Here’s my day:
popcorn, microwave, 100 calorie pack 110
Diet Coke, 1 4
TaB, 1 5
fat free ice cream, chocolate and strawberry 2 cups 240
rainbow sprinkles, 1 ounce 25
small salad 150
walnut + dark chocolate health bar 160
fat free ice cream, chocolate 1.5 cups 180
popcorn, microwave, 100 calorie pack 110
Dr. Preager’s California veggie burger 110
It probably seems unhealthy to all you adults what with the excessive fat free ice cream and diet coke, but believe me, for me, it is overall a healthy and successful day compared to how I used to eat.
: )
I will now peruse the starbucks website in search of new low calorie drinks to try.
My plan for tomorrow’s breakfast = some form of soy latte and a package of mangos; then my first “lunch” will be an energy drink and a banana… haven’t gotten around to deciding on the other 4 or so meals.
(I’ve been eating like 6 times a day and its working). I have like a breakfast before I leave, two mini lunches on the job, a snack after work, and a snack before bed.
Hi everyone, I came through the wedding fine. I had some chocolate-covered sunflower seeds. But that was my only transgression. Also, I only drank alcohol.
Even after sleeping, I am totally exhausted. And I’m going back to the couch to see if I can shake this headache. I was going to say something to everyone, but I can’t think yet.
“Also, I only drank alcohol.”
That is ridiculous and not true. I ONLY drank WATER –
I wonder if the rest of the day is going to be as backwards?
KB, I think what you might have meant was something like “I would have liked to have only had alcohol to drink”– you think ?
Sounds like you did fine, but, I’ve never even heard of chocolate coverend sunflower seeds !
