Just today, I’m not going to eat between meals and I’m not going to take seconds. And I’ll weigh myself and use Nutribase and the tools of The Hacker’s Diet to help me reach (and keep) my goals.

August 28, 2007 — Just 4 Today, In Focus
Just 4 Today, I’ll drink my fiber twice (done once!), drink 2 liters of water (so far, about 1/2 liter), walk 5 miles (yesterday – 4.89), NOT eat between meals & NOT take seconds.
I’ve been logging everything I eat in Nutribase until a couple of weeks ago. But, lately I’ve gotten sloppy about it (logging breakfast & lunch but not dinner.) So far I’ve stayed on track. HOWEVER — this is an early sign that I might be losing focus.
So, JUST Today I’m going to log everything I eat — either directly in Nutribase, or in a paper journal (If I’m not near a computer). And use that paper journal to get caught up the next time I’m at my computer.

Email Notices?
Recently a couple of people have told me that they’d rather not get the email notices. And a couple of others told me that they like it.
While everyone has control over getting them, doing that isn’t obvious. There’s a check-box under the comment textarea. But it slides way down the page as you type because of the comment-preview text.
There’s also a manage subscriptions link. Which takes you to a page of check-boxes for each email notice.
For a long time I’ve set the default option to subscribe. But as an experiment, I’ve switched it to off. Please let me know how this change works for you.

We had too much company yesterday. And it looks like we might have a new permanent visitor. But I don’t know when (or really if it’s for sure) it’s likely to happen.
The thought scares me. Because it’s hard enough staying on track with my food issues. If we’ve got to start cooking for another person — he eats later & different foods — that’s a new challenge. And he works the same hours as me. So, that means sharing my morning space.
I guess things will work out . . . . But I guess I’m not quite happy about it yet.
