Just today, I’m not going to eat between meals and I’m not going to take seconds. And I’ll weigh myself and use Nutribase and the tools of The Hacker’s Diet to help me reach (and keep) my goals.

August 25, 2007 — Just 4 Today
Just 4 Today, I’ll drink my fiber twice (done once!), drink 2 liters of water (so far, about 1/2 liter), walk 5 miles (yesterday – 4.21), NOT eat between meals & NOT take seconds.

August 24, 2007 — Just 4 Today (Facing Friday’s Fears)
Just 4 Today, I’ll drink my fiber twice (done once!), drink 2 liters of water (so far, about 1/2 liter), walk 5 miles (yesterday – 5.84), NOT eat between meals & NOT take seconds.
Facing Friday’s Fears
It’s not that I’m BAD on weekends, but I’m just not as focused as I am during the week. For example, we call our Friday & Saturday night dinners, “Green Plate Specials” and have pizza, burritos and/or tacos or hamburgers and (with whichever we’re eating) salad & baked french fries. We’ve done this for 15 years or more.
So, I know that there’s nothing inherently bad about those meals — I’ve both lost AND maintained weight while eating those foods. Taco night (for example) has 400 calories — as long as I stick to 3 oz of french fries. And THAT’s the catch.
I don’t always take the time to weigh the fries. And sometimes I nibble on a few as mister finishes the last bits of meal preparation (and THOSE don’t get weighed for sure!) So, I end up not knowing exactly how much I’ve eaten — but I suspect that it’s too much.
So (Just Tonight) I’m not going to eat any fries that I haven’t weighed.
