September 1, 2007 — Just 4 Today

Just 4 Today I'llJust 4 Today, I’ll drink my fiber twice (done once!), drink 2 liters of water (so far, about 1 liter), walk 5 miles (yesterday — wow! I was sick as a dog and still walked 3.02 miles!), NOT eat between meals & NOT take seconds.

I’m holding back the cold with Mucinex, water and asprin.  And the couch.  It’s amazing how good you can feel when your stretched out on a couch!  Still, I think I’ll take a walk in a little while.  Does anyone want to join me?

What are you going to do today?

OK, I know it’s stupid, but I did walk today. I had a meeting at 10am and no car. It was just a mile and a half each way. It’s pretty hot today– 94 so far, going up to 104 they say.

Time for a nice salad for lunch.

Why stupid, Catdog? You know the drill — wear a hat, take some water with you (and drink it), and even do a little pre-hydrating before you go. It’s not like you’re running or something seriously strenuous. Then again, my mom plays tennis in 90-degree weather all the time. ;-)

    KB, I saw where you were talking about your headache. Hope it’s better by now. {{{{KB}}}}

    Hi catdog & FAR!

catdog, my sister says a sun umbrella is good for walking in the heat. I think it’s because a hat holds so much of your heat IN. Which is good in the winter, not so good in the summer.

And FAR, the headache turned into a head cold — which I guess is better….

    I hope everyone’s had a good day.

I wore a hat and carried an umbrella, wore very light clothing, got a bottle of water– but my outdoor thermometer says it got up to 114 today. Don’t know whether to believe it or not, but it was pretty miserable. Just down to 79 now, at 10:30pm.

Could have been worse, I guess– they had serious thunderstorms, flash flooding and tornado warnings up in the Antelope Valley, about 90 miles from here. A lightning-caused fire is burning in the mountains in the Big Bear area, too. Crazy !

Hi, this has been a family day. Breakfast with my sister and then a long visit with mister’s sister and her brand-new husband (it was her wedding earlier this week)

I gave her my card with my website — maybe she’ll stop in sometime….

Well, I went and did it. I actually bought a swimsuit. Big5 had a sale, (surprise, surprise), and I could scarcely pass up the opportunity, although we really went in for something else.

Suffice it to say it’s one piece, and looks pretty good. You couldn’t have got me to even try one of this time last year.

    Another milestone.

Now all I need is a place to go swimming– considering it was over 100 again today, I rather wish I had someplace right now.

A SWIMSUIT! Wow! Now THAT’s a milestone. I looked at swimsuits a couple of weeks ago. And I thought that was a milestone.

    I’m so happy for you!

Milestones, yay! Congrats on the new suit, catdog.

Amongst the many shopping things we did today, Mrs. Fetched insisted I need new jeans. OK, yeah, I’ve lost a size & my current jeans are soooo comfortable I can slip them on & off without loosening them first. That’s a little too comfortable :-P

One pair of new jeans has a 36 waist, the other 35 (down from 38). My eventual goal is to get back to 34, at which point I will officially go “on maintenance.” I wore 32 in high school, but I don’t think I can lose *that* much.

Ff– I was thinking about buying a pair of new jeans a size down, too–but not sure myself if I would be able to get rid of that much weight. I think I need to lose more in the upper body, which is more difficult for me.

That’s why I need to think seriously about an exercise program that will focus more than the walking or treadmill does– although my treadmill does have the arm exercise feature.
