Just 4 Today, I’ll drink my fiber twice (done once), drink 2 liters of water (I’ve drunk about 1/2 liter), walk 5 miles (yesterday – .45. But that’s because spent so much time on our feet looking at stuff at the store), NOT eat between meals & NOT take seconds.
What are you going to do today?

Good morning KB.
It appears you’re up early today. J4T I’ll drink 2 liters of water.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Hi FamilyMan,
Yes — I actually got up with the alarm clock this morning. AND I posted my posts BEFORE wandering through our neighborhood and the political blogs.
Since then, I’ve visited Beth, who’s got a new post up!
And I’m THINKING about going to the gym for a pre-work walk….
You ARE ambitious today, kb! Morning, fam, and ‘have a good day’ wishes back to you. I might try walking at the mall today, since it’s too hot to walk outside, and I’m woefully behind on stretching my muscles. Plus, it’s near Panera!
It rained on the way into work this morning. I’m pretty happy to have new wipers on the car… feels almost decadent.
J4T I’ll drink my water, take my fiber, and lunch is in the crockpot already so I don’t have to get out in the rain.
I’ll drink my water and think of the Southeast and the Southwest and Southern California and feel GRATEFUL to be able to gulp it down!
Sunday. Cut up three batches of home-made caramels and wrapped them. That’s about 800 caramels. My shoulders are sore, my arthritic thumb aches, and I didn’t eat a single on. In between, I watered a garden, helped make six loaves of bread, and a tater-tot casserole for my s-i-l who’s going through chemo and needs to eat fattening comfort found. I ate a quiche without the pie crust…never again…for breakfast, and two hamburgers with the remaining tater-tots for supper. I swayed to the emotions of the Houston and Titans game. Wow! But I didn’t walk a mile for a camel or run like the wind or bike for Ike or climb stairways to Heaven. Sloth that I am, I am still reading and writing. Maybe I’ll walk today, because tomorrow is another day. Hope y’all are getting rain. 38 days and Raleigh, NC is out of water.
Morning, Kb & everyone -
I walked 30 minutes today. Forgot to check the miles. I’m with you on the plan of the day.
Looking out the window. Still raining here, and it’s supposed to stay on through Tuesday night & maybe even all the way to Thursday. Yeah, bring it on baby!
The crockpot lid is clinking away, making me think of a case of beer bottles on the way to the fridge. If the broth tastes as good as it smells, it’s going to be pretty dang good this time!
We got a small sprink this morning. Had to pick George up again and set him in the middle of the lawn. He hates wet grass. I looked at the weather map and rain is around us, but not on us. Hopefully this afternoon we’ll see some. But, I can do without the tornado sirens going off again.
Hi Everyone
I’m peeking in quickly from work to say:
{{Whew}} I just got back from across the street where I ALMOST bought a piece of Sour Cream Struddle. It looked SO GOOD.
And then, I stopped. And remembered that Just 4 Today, I’m NOT going to eat between meals.
But, what a temptation it is on a cold wet morning like today….
Rick, 800 pieces of caramel & you didn’t eat any?? Wow. That’s all. Wow.
Happy Monday to all– After an exhausting weekend, I am, for today, on track. Had my yogurt and cereal, and an apple for a snack.
Weather in SoCAL has been hot, EXTREMELY dry, and a smokey haze covers the city. The winds that are causing so much trouble in Malibu and the other firestorm areas aren’t really in evidence near downtown LA– the palms outside my office are swaying oh-so-gently, so far.
Yesterday the grandling and I did the AIDS Walk in West Hollywood– or as much as an 8 year old was up for in the heat.
I gave her a thumbnail sketch of the history of HIV/AIDS over the past 26 years, less the content about modes of transmission– for now–, and when we got home I showed her the photos on the internet of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, including one of the 2 panels I made for friends.
We’ll see what the weather looks like later and whether a walk makes sense with the heat and smoke.
Hope the fires stay away from your part of the world, catdog. I keep checking Knucklehead’s blog, but there are no updates. Scary, scary.
Yay for resisting strudel, kb – I went to Panera and had a souffle, but no sweet stuff.
Rick’s caramels are to die for, if you’ve never had one.
I walked 1/2 hour with Kimber – well, virtually – at the mall. And will head to Curves in an hour or so.
And far’s lunch sounds yummy!
Now I’m hungry again…
Here’s hoping for rain in the drought- and fire-striken parts of the country…
Hi all. No walking today although I got plenty of exercise yesterday. Too bad, I missed a nice day. I did drink my water.
OK, this fire thing is getting to me. It’s eerily quiet in my part of town, where we had a fire a couple of months back, while all hell has broken loose to the northeast and west, not to mention down in San Diego and up in the mountains, where hundreds of (mostly) vacation homes have burned at Lake Arrowhead. There is a fire burning a mobile home park 5 1/2 miles from a friend’s mobile home park– but 5 1/2 miles is nothing with these winds.
My stress eating has been confined to baby carrots with low-cal dressing, and lettuce & cherry tomato salad with lite Italian dressing, but still, the stress is being expressed in eating. Not a good sign.
And I didn’t get a walk in today.
The plan for tomorrow is to at least walk to work, or home from work. Maybe morning is better as it’s supposed to get up to 90 tomorrow afternoon. Again.
