October 26, 2007 — Just 4 Today

Just 4 Today I'llJust 4 Today, I’ll drink my fiber twice (done once), drink 2 liters of water (I’ve drunk about 1/2 liter), walk 5 miles (yesterday – 1.12), NOT eat between meals & NOT take seconds.

I have a theory, that every time you turn around — it’s Friday again.  Whoosh.

    I *wish* it was Friday every time I turned around. I’d be turning more often.

    J4T I’ll drink my water, take my fiber, and try to have a productive work day. Walking is going to be a little difficult with the biker boots on, but I burned a few calories staying warm on my commute. ;-)

    You meant that doesn’t work for everyone? I swear it works for me!

    And just think of the extra calories you’re burning just lugging those boots around all day!

    That’s a good theory, right, kb? Friday arriving when you least expect it? I walked for 1/2 hour this morning – it’s 74, sunny, breezy, not much humidity. GORGEOUS out there! I’ll try to do better today – had a bad day yesterday, so ate bad stuff. Today is better. Enjoy the ride, FAR!

    Don’t know where the week went ! I realized this afternoon that, by being in SF from Wednesday afternoon and going straight to work when I got back yesterday morning, I missed the trash pick-up at home.

    Now that doesn’t mean much to most people, I suppose, but I always make sure the recycling goes out, that sort of stuff, and it didn’t get done yesterday. It’s like a missing page in history….

    Query: What do you do about a co-worker who goes to the store for whole bean coffee (which she bought) but also brings back a whole lot of candy ?

    It’s rhetorical, don’t worry– She’s gone through a stop-smoking program, which has worked very well for her, and now realizes that her biggest problem is– FOOD !

    As I pointed out to her today, nicotine is optional, but we all have to eat.

    I’m trying to encourage her to get started with a serious weight-loss effort now that she’s kicked the other habit, but we all know that it’s not going to be easy.

    Any suggestions ?

    Tell you how bad the smoke still is, as there are numerous fires still burning and not nearly contained– the breast cancer Walk for Hope scheduled for tomorrow by the City of Hope in Southern California is postponed.

    “Weekend warriors” are being warned not to go outside for any physical exertion throughout the area.

    Just because it’s off the hysteria circuit, it doesn’t mean we don’t still have serious problems throughout Southern California. This puts quite a crimp in exercise regimes, obviously. Guess we just have to redouble our attention to intake control.
