Outdoor walking is a challenge. In the summer the weather is clear but, it’s hot.hot.hot and that can make what should be an enjoyable experience almost a threat. In fact, that’s when I first invented my idea of walking “just around the block” 5 or 6 times a day — that way I could walk while at work without my clothes getting drenched in sweat.
Well fall and winter are challenges too. Today it’s chilly and damp. The dog is desperate to go outside (he’s dancing at my feet and slapping me right this minute) but he’s only about 7″ tall; I can’t take him out in the rain! Or can I?
Heck if I know. This little guy is my first experience as the primary owner of a pet.
(fiber and water are in my plans too)

7″ dog? no prob. Dogs don’t care if they get wet. If the puddles get too deep, he’ll swim.
The alternative is him leaving yellow puddles on your floor.
Oh, the puddles aren’t a problem — we’ve got a routine for that. He runs down the stairs (right next to the house) does his thing (whatever that happens to be) and runs right back up the stairs.
I’m not so worried about him just getting wet. It’s wet and chilled that worries me. He’s got a breathing disorder as it is — and I’d hate it if he got pneumonia.
You could always rub him down with a towel when he comes in. He’d enjoy it and be warmer.
