In January 2004, I was 5′ tall, 63 years old, female, and I weighed 151 lbs. A bit on the chubby side but other than that…not too bad for my age. Right? Well, I have something to tell you.
One night in October 2004, I was out in the yard with my two Totos for their last trip “out back”. It was very dark with only a single bulb porch lamp to give us light.
All of a sudden, I started seeing bright white arcs in the left perimeter of my left eye that seemed to relate to eye movement. At first I thought it was light from the bulb catching in the edges of the lenses of my glasses. So, I moved around to a totally dark area and was dismayed to find the arcing lights still there. I told Gooserock about it immediately.
First thing the next morning (lights still flashing) I called my optometrist who had me come to his office immediately. Long story short…He could not find any reason for the flashes of light. He did several kinds of tests, range of vision was fine, retina was in excellent shape, etc, and repeated them over the next few weeks. Some sort of migraine minus the migraine pain.
Several months later I was forced to go to my medical doctor to get my Prozac prescription renewed. (More on depression later.) “Glad to see you’re still alive,” she said.
