Brief thought about the Olympic Opening Ceremonies
WHY did they time-delay the ceremonies for the mountain & west coasters? What kind of a sucky idea is that? Those people LIVE in the same part of the world as Vancouver. Some of them were just a couple of miles away from the city (in Northern Washington) . . .
For me one of the pleasures of the Olympics was that we all watched events as they happened. Maybe we had to get up in the middle of the night or bring our TVs into work — it was all part of the fun.
That faded away as NBC started compiling Highlights from the Olympics, showing them only in primetime. So, I guess it’s to be expected. But, it’s gotta suck for my west coast friends. I’m sorry.
