5 failure pick-me-ups
My friend, sister blogger Stephanie at Back in Skinny Jeans has a post that is a perfect fit (not too skinny, not too fat) for today:
“Two Tiny Changes”: 5 ‘failure’ pick me up tips + update (Stephanie’s list)
- You may feel like there is a huge letter L tattooed on your head for “Loser” but I can assure you that it’s only imaginary . (snip)
- The failure feeling is blown up because you are focused on only a small part of the picture where yes relative to size, your mistake or inability to achieve something seems huge. (snip)
- For every successful person we see on those “Most Successful” lists, that same person could equally be put on “Big Mistakes ever Made” lists. (snip)
- It’s okay to be imperfect. Those suffering from “Perfect girl” syndrome who are afraid to make mistakes or risk feeling failure need to let go of that perfect image and lighten up (snip)
- On the bright side, if you’re on the bottom, the only way you can go is up. (snip)
Today (this week/month/year) I could put a tick next to each of those points. But, starting now, I’m going to erase them.
I know that making the decision to retire has had a HUGE impact on the pattern of my life. So many things have been “on hold” until June 27th when I’ll be able to set my own priorities. But “on hold” is not a healthy place to be. Our brains keep clacking away and if left to their own devices (mine at least) fill up with the most useless trash.
Today — I’m kicking the trash to the curb.
